The view from Young St! Wow. That's got to be one of the great Victorian city skylines in Australia - or the world - laid out right in front of you like that. It's a really great part of Ballarat.

What I really like about Llanberris and the surrounding area around Young St (where I live) is that it used to be the Chinese settlement during the gold rush. I'm not sure where those settlements used to be exactly but I when I'm watering my tomatoes in the back yard I always imagine that I'm carrying on some generations old market gardening tradition started by the Chinese gold miners.
We live near Llanberris Reserve. When there are athletics carnivals on you can hear the sound of the starters' gun and imagine the cheers of the school kids. It reminds me of when I used to do sports carnivals as a kid.
